November/December 2008

In the last couple of months a number of stock have been sold, some to interstate homes.

Silkwood Sublime (Junior) now resides in W.A and we all anticipate his presence in the showring! To be produced by a top show home. Silkwood Little Heaven (Chicky) also travelled with Junior to W.A where she will be produced by another loving show home.

Kolbeach Renaissance (Harvey) who was a foal a foot when Silkwood Stud bought his mother has made his way to N.S.W. This galloway has huge potential and looks a picture under saddle!

We thank everyone for their interest in the above horses and trust that their new owners enjoy their new nags. Silkwood Stud is delighted with their homes! 


E.F.A National Show Horse Championships 

Congratulations once again to Silkwood Angel Wings who claimed the National Small Pony Of The Year title with her now experienced jockey, Grace Hill. Leanda Ponies and Sarah McCormick continue to produce this mare beautifully for the McMahon/McCormick partnership.
Silkwood Heaven Can Wait and Silkwood Slipstream also represented the Silkwood name in the Large Pony and Galloway sections respectively. 'Sarah' was ridden by Bella Drexel and 'Ned' ridden by older sister Emily.
It was also lovely to see some of the Jackets Bluebird stock being shown at this level.

Silkwood Renaissance claimed another National Title to his credit being awarded Runner-Up Show Hunter Galloway of The Year ridden wonderfully by Emma Adams. Harley has been a previous National Open Galloway Of The Year when produced and shown by Sarah Lindeman.

September/October 2008

 RT Edgar E.F.A Victorian State Titles 2008 

The super young filly Silkwood Heaven's Gift was sold earlier this year to Tara Meeres of Silkdale Stud in W.A. Last weekend Surprise strutted her stuff at the Victorian Riding Pony Foal Show capably led by Jeremy Roberts to place third in a strong field of under 11hh fillies.

Silkwood Stud later in the day teamed up with Belrose Park Stud to gain second in the progeny class with their fillies both being by Deanhills Benjamin (IMP).

Sydney Royal Easter Show - 2/4/08

Silkwood Heaven's Chalice proudly claimed the Sydney Royal Champion Small Pony and the Molly Higgins Memorial Trophy with Bella Drexel in the saddle. Candy worked sensationally taking everything in her stride! LJS Predictions owned by the Wells Family of Jamberoo in NSW claimed the Reserve Small Pony Championship.

Melbourne Summer Royal

Silkwood Heaven's Chalice took out the Champion Newcomer Ridden Riding Pony and placed 3rd in her Open Ridden Riding Pony under a visiting English Judge. Thanks to her rider, Laura Arnold who had not ridden Candy before the show. Silkwood Dejavu also placed in a very strong led Riding Pony filly class.
